Reimagining workspaces to foster collaboration, identity, and innovation
Context
VDFIN, a joint venture between D'Ieteren and Volkswagen Financial Services, aimed to bring its 200 employees together at the Kortenberg site. The goal was to adopt a hybrid, activity-based working model, create spaces reflecting the company’s values, enhance collaboration among employees, and strengthen its identity and connections with the D'Ieteren Group.
Challenge
To design spaces that cater to the diverse needs of teams while aligning with VDFIN’s strategic ambitions and the group’s standards. The challenge was to foster collaboration, support individual work, and showcase a modern, distinctive identity. Additionally, developing a shared language to enhance synergies with D’Ieteren Automotive was key.
Solution
Out Of Office defined a shared vision, engaged employees at all levels, and designed environments aligned with VDFIN’s culture and goals:
- Analysed current workflows and defined future needs.
- Designed three distinct spaces:
Connection Space: Dynamic and industrial, for gathering and celebrating.
Team Space: Warm and functional, for individual and team work.
Spiritual Space: Calming and soft, for focus and relaxation. - Created directional and decorative signage.
- Supervised the project through to final implementation.
- Developed a shared culture and common language with D’Ieteren Automotive.
Result
Spaces that promote collaboration, innovation, and employee well-being while strengthening ties and synergies within the D’Ieteren Group.
