Ores
Transforming workspaces for a sustainable future
Context
In 2014, ORES, a leading energy supplier in Wallonia, aimed to transition from traditional work methods to a flexible, activity-based approach. This shift intended to align the workspace with the company's values and strategy, enhancing both employee behaviour and office design. The move consolidated staff from Tournai to a new operations office in Leuze-en-Hainaut.
Challenge
The primary challenge was to design a workspace that embodied ORES's identity while promoting flexibility and collaboration. The new environment needed to cater to both field workers and administrative staff, facilitating a seamless transition to modern work practices.
Solution
Out Of Office partnered with ORES to define and implement this future way of working. Our responsibilities encompassed:
- Developing macro and micro layouts.
- Designing custom-made furniture.
- Creating mood boards and selecting materials.
- Planning signage.
- Estimating interior design budgets.
- Overseeing the execution of interior works.
Result
The new Leuze-en-Hainaut office stands as a testament to ORES's commitment to innovation and sustainability. The activity-based workspace has fostered a culture of flexibility and collaboration, aligning with the company's strategic objectives. This transformation not only enhanced operational efficiency but also improved employee satisfaction and engagement.
For the construction of the passive building, OOO collaborated with the architects Meunier-Westrade.

"First collaboration and first impression: Out Of Office listened to its client in an active and challenging manner. Out Of Office has endeavored to identify the major needs of ORES in order to offer it an appropriate response. The collaboration with the Design & Build team allowed a result which is now fully appreciated by users."
