Athlon
A modern, flexible workspace
Context
Athlon, a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG, is a leading provider of vehicle leasing and fleet management services, operating in over 20 countries across Europe and North America.
Challenge
To consolidate its Belgian operations, Athlon aimed to merge employees from four separate locations into a single headquarters in Machelen. This move required a transition from traditional work settings to a flexible, activity-based environment that reflects the company's values and strategic vision.
Solution
Out Of Office was entrusted with:
- Concept Creation: Developing a workspace concept that embodies Athlon's culture and strategic objectives.
- Change Management: Guiding employees through the transition to new ways of working, ensuring engagement and adaptability.
- New Ways of Working: Implementing flexible, activity-based workspaces tailored to diverse tasks and collaboration styles.
- Interior Design: Designing detailed layouts for offices, communal areas, and collaborative spaces, including custom-made furniture, mood boards, signage, and selection of materials and furnishings.
- Site Supervision: Overseeing the construction process to ensure the faithful realization of the design concept.
This comprehensive approach ensured that every aspect of the new headquarters was aligned with Athlon's identity and operational needs.
Result
The new Machelen headquarters offers a modern, flexible workspace that promotes collaboration and employee well-being, reflecting Athlon's core values and strategic direction.

"What a pleasure to collaborate with Out Of Office: open discussions, inspiring ideas, but always with attention to our contribution. In short, a very inspiring and participatory process in which our employees have been led and guided by Out Of Office to create a work environment that literally radiates Athlon's culture and DNA. For me, this is also where Out Of Office's real strength lies: each project is unique, because it starts from the client's culture. The starting point is the same in every process: start from people's perspective and how they perform optimally and interact in an inspiring work environment."
